On Saturday, April 11th our 14 year old grand niece left her Centennial, Colorado home to go to a friends house. As I was writing this, we got the phone call that the police found her... alive, physically okay. But we are unsure of what happened. Obviously, our family has been sick with worry, concerned that she was lured away by some predator. Because it was not clear if she was a runaway or if she was abducted, Arapahoe County authorities would not release an amber alert, nor would the news stations do a piece on her as a missing child. What could we do? How could we get the word out?
Our family turned to the Internet tools we use every day, Face Book, Twitter, Blogs, our own web sites and asked others to spread the word. Reportedly the police department was flooded with calls as the news spread quickly on the Internet. A google search of Jennifer Frisina brought tons of hits as stranger after stranger forward on the posts to others.
As night closes in over the Denver area, the temperature is dropping and a severe snow storm is headed our way. That alone may have been how Jennifer was found...we don't know the details, but I have to think that the tools we use in our lives every day helped bring Jennifer back to us. Tools for work and social networking, can even save a child's life!
